Wildcard SSL Installation on Plesk Multi-Servers: Step-by-Step Guide

SSL/TLS certificates safeguard data by encrypting client-server connections. They are essential on today’s internet. Plesk and the mail server are automatically secured with a free SSL/TLS certificate from Let’s Encrypt during Plesk installation.

a) How do I install the Wildcard SSL Certificate on multiple servers ?

To install on a single server, follow these steps:

1. Purchase an SSL certificate.

2. Ensure to input your domain name, *.mydomain.com, for a wildcard certificate to generate a CSR.

3. The CA will send you the certificate installed on the server after completing the certificate verification process.

4. Install the certificate in Plesk.

The installation of a wildcard certificate on multiple servers necessitates an additional step: uploading the private key.

When generating a CSR, create and save your private key on your server. Copy it to each additional server when installing the certificate.

b) How do I transfer your private key to multiple servers ?

1. First, log in to your Plesk account.
