SSL certificate FAQs: Common Questions and In-Depth Answers, Part 3

a) What is CSR ? Do you provide it with an SSL certificate ?

 SSL certificate

A CSR or Certificate Signing Request is a unique key generated by a web server using its private key and sent to the SSL certificate issuer. We handle the CSR process after registering an SSL certificate.

b) Can I transfer my SSL certificate to you ?

If you already have an SSL certificate, you can send a backup file (.pfx format) of the certificate and private key generated on the previous web server. If not, you must purchase a new SSL certificate.

c) What is the importance of the green address bar ?

The green address bar is unique to businesses with a “TrueBusinessID” SSL certificate and signifies legitimacy to users. Major web browsers now display a red address bar for known phishing websites, increasing the security of your business with a “TrueBusinessID” SSL certificate.

d) What if I already have an SSL certificate ?

Extended Validation (EV) is the highest level of SSL, offering greater credibility and trust to websites. It includes features like a green address bar and company name display, boosting trust and consumer confidence.

e) What is a wildcard SSL certificate ?

Wildcard SSL certificates provide the same encryption and authentication features as other SSL certificates but can be applied to an unlimited number of subdomains of a website, supporting both the root domain and its subdomains.
