Plesk Let’s Encrypt Setup: A Step-by-Step SSL Guide

Let’s Encrypt requires domain control demonstration through the ACME (Automated Certificate Management Environment) protocol software client, ensuring end-to-end encryption of communications with a free SSL certificate and secure file publishing.

a) How do I enable Let’s Encrypt Free SSL Certificate ?

1. First, log into your Plesk control panel.

2. Then, click on the “Websites & Domains” tab on the left navigation bar of the page.

3. After that, select the domain where you want to install the SSL certificate and navigate to the SSL/TLS Certificate option.

4. Next, click on the “Get it free” button on Let’s Encrypt.

5. Then, enter your email address in the ‘Include “www” subdomain of the domain and each selected alias‘ box before clicking the “Install” button.

Note: Enabling protected wildcard domains like www. and webmail is usually unnecessary, but if you want to install a wildcard SSL certificate, select Wildcard SSL Certificate.

6. After that, you will be returned to the hosting page, and a message will be displayed indicating that the process is complete.

7. Next, click on Hosting Settings.

8. Then, enable SSL/TLS support in the Security section and redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let’s encrypt the certificate.

9. Finally, you can now access https websites without any prior notice.
