Creating and Managing Subdomains in cPanel: A Step-by-Step Guide

A subdomain is a domain within the main domain, located on the same server. It can be a second website under the main domain but may not have any relationship with the root website. A new website can be run under this subdomain.

a) How to create a subdomain in cPanel

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Domains section to select Subdomains tool or search for the Subdomains tool in the search bar.

2. Then, enter the desired subdomain and choose the root domain. The document root will be automatically populated based on the subdomain. You can adjust it to suit your needs or leave it.

3. Finally, click the “Create” button to create the subdomain and you will receive a message if the subdomain is successfully created.

b) How to manage subdomain redirection in cPanel

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Domains section to select Subdomains tool or search for the Subdomains tool in the search bar.

2. Then, click the Manage Redirection button in the Modify a subdomain section.

3. After that, enter the new URL to which you want to redirect the subdomain.

4. Finally, click the Save button and your redirection will be saved successfully. If you want to disable redirection later, you can click Disable redirection.
