Cloud FAQs: Answers to Common Questions, Part 5

a) Can virtual machines use the secondary IP block that comes with the server ?

cloud

The server’s secondary IP is designed for a physical server, not a virtual machine, and a portable IP block is required to connect the virtual machine to the network.

b) What is a portable IP address ?

A portable IP address is an address assigned to a device or user that can change when it moves between networks, unlike a static IP address which remains constant. It is commonly used on mobile devices like smartphones and laptops, which connect to different networks while on the move.

c) How do I order Hyper-V ?

cloud

To install Hyper-V on an existing server, reload the operating system and change it to Windows Server Datacenter Edition, which supports Hyper-V. To configure a new server with Hyper-V, order a new server and select the supported edition. You can contact our support team for any inquiries.

d) Hyper-V operating system reloading is complete. What’s next ?

cloud

It requires a Hyper-V setup.

e) The virtual machine cannot be started. ” Unable to initialize the computer remote system: Error: ‘Unspecified error'” How do I resolve this issue ?

cloud

Stopping and restarting the Hyper-V service can resolve the issue, which is typically caused by Hyper-V trying to start during server activation, which will then restore the virtual machine.
