Adding an SRV Record: Step-by-Step Instructions

cPanel SRV records are DNS records that specify the location of specific services on your server. They are not a standard feature of cPanel but can be configured using DNS management tools.

a) Add an SRV Record guideline

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Domains section to select Zone Editor tool or search for the Zone Editor tool in the search bar.

2. Next, select the desired domain and click Manage. Then, click the Add Record button and select SRV Record to add SRV records.

3. After that, you must input all the necessary information and click on the “Add Record” button.

4. Finally, the newly created SRV record should appear in the zone records list, and it typically takes less than 15 minutes to take effect but can take up to 24 hours. If it doesn’t start within 24 hours, contact your hosting provider.

b) Remove an SRV Record guideline

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Domains section to select Zone Editor tool or search for the Zone Editor tool in the search bar.

2. Then, click on the corresponding Delete link button to delete the record you wish to delete.

3. Finally, you will receive a message indicating that the record was successfully deleted.
