Connecting Remotely: A Guide to cPanel’s Remote MySQL Access

cPanel’s Remote MySQL allow remote servers or web applications to access databases hosted on your account. If a server or application attempts to access a database that is not provided, cPanel will block access. However, you can grant access to a specific application by adding its hostname or IP address.

a) How to add an access host in cPanel’s Remote MySQL

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Databases section to select Remote MySQL tool or search for the Remote MySQL tool in the search bar.

2. Then enter the host name in the Add Access Host section field. You can enter using domain names, IP addresses and the wildcard character %.

3. Finally, click the Add Host button and the new access host will be added successfully.

b) How to remove an access host in cPanel’s Remote MySQL

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Databases section to select Remote MySQL tool or search for the Remote MySQL tool in the search bar.

2. Then, click the Delete link button from the list of access hosts.

3. After that, click on the Remove Access Host button to remove the host IP address from the access list.

4. Finally, the IP will be removed from the access list.
